hypnology can improve the quality of life without any therapy (24 Dec 2014). Hypnology is one of the new pathways of wellbeing, and in fact it is centered on the healthy part of the individual. This concept has been underlined very clearly by Milton Erickson since the beginning of his career, when he wrote the following words: "one may consider the few troubled people who are benefited by psychotherapy of all kinds and the countless numbers who, while also having problems, still succeed without therapy in achieving goals that they and others regard as constituting real personal and social success" (The collected papers of Milton H. Erickson on hypnosis, vol. 4). This citation doesn't want to be an attack on psychotherapy, but it merely wants to help the public (and also psychiatrists and psychologists) to understand that the profession of hypnologist is very different from their profession, and it satisfies different and far more common needs.
